An ambirorandrano (also called a Zazavavindrano or Zazavavirano) is a Malagasy water demon. It has been described as resembling "a mystical mermaid".[1] They are reported to possess boys.[2] There are also accounts of them possessing adults. They may provide material benefits but ask for the blood of children.[3]
